Application Manager

The Application Manager screen shows all applications (both Jeppesen and third-party supplied) registered with the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).  Applications from third-parties can be included in the EFB by using a Software Development Kit (SDK) provided by Jeppesen.  

Functions of Application Manager include:

• Consistency of the user experience
• Automatic scaling to either portrait or landscape orientation depending on orientation used by operating system
• Rapid launching and navigation between applications
• Common entry point for all applications loaded onto the EFB
• flight initialization and flight closing functions
• EFB shared functions such as I/O services, peripheral interfaces, printer functions, common virtual keyboard
• System messaging functions
• Access to System Pages for maintenance functions such as:
  • Data loading
  • Configuration management
  • Database effectivity and integrity checking
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis
