E-mail Abuse Policy

Jeppesen takes customer complaints about e-mail issues and unsolicited bulk e-mail seriously. If you are being blocked from sending e-mail to Jeppesen, or if you believe that you have received unsolicited bulk e-mail from Jeppesen, please take the time to review the following e-mail policies. If appropriate, you can submit your information to a technical support engineer for assistance. Jeppesen tries to resolve all support cases within two business days.

  • Undeliverable Email Errors
If you are a sender of an e-mail that is being blocked by Jeppesen please be advised that Jeppesen does not authorize the use of its proprietary computers or computer network to accept, transmit or distribute unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE). In addition, internet e-mail sent, or caused to be sent, to or through the Jeppesen network that makes use of or contains invalid or forged headers, invalid or non-existent domain names or other means of deceptive addressing will be deemed to be counterfeit. Any attempt to send or cause such counterfeit e-mail to be sent to or through the Jeppesen network is unauthorized.

    Effective immediately
Jeppesen mail servers will no longer accept connections from IP addresses which have no reverse DNS (PTR record) assigned. Reverse DNS allows us to associate a host name with an IP address. A large portion of unsolicited bulk e-mail originates, or is relayed through, systems that are not properly defined in DNS. This classification will be applied to areas of the internet where we can preempt future abuse by requiring the remote site to be properly defined in DNS prior to sending e-mail.

The IP address of your mail server(s) must map to a valid host name using a DNS PTR record. Additionally, the host name of your mail server(s) must map to the connecting IP address using a DNS A record. In cases where there are multiple PTR records, all returned host names must map back to the connecting IP addresses. In cases where there are multiple A records, at least one returned IP address must match the connecting IP address.

Jeppesen may refuse entire blocks of IP addresses in a dialup or DSL range (for example dsl.*.somedomain.com or dialup.somedomain.com). This is due to the common practice of configuring a temporary mail server in one of these blocks for the sole purpose of sending unsolicited bulk e-mail. If your mail server is configured legitimately in one of these blocks it will be necessary to contact Jeppesen IT personnel with a request to unblock the address for your mail relay.

If you are a Jeppesen customer or business partner and have received an undeliverable e-mail error or bounce back due to improperly configured DNS and the problem cannot be resolved by your ISP or IT personnel you can submit your information to a technical support engineer for assistance. Jeppesen tries to resolve all support cases within two business days.

  • Unsolicited Bulk Email

Jeppesen does not send unsolicited bulk e-mail. If you believe that you have received unsolicited bulk e-mail from Jeppesen, you can submit your information to a technical support engineer for assistance. Jeppesen tries to resolve all support cases within two business days. NOTE: Jeppesen support engineers will require the original SMTP headers from the suspected e-mail in order to resolve your issue.
