e-Charts for Windows 4.0 Update
e-Charts for Windows 4.0 Overview
e-Charts for Windows (EC4W), formerly known as Mission Ops electronic Charts (MOeC), is a Microsoft Windows PC application that gives customers the ability to search, view, and print electronic charts. EC4W provides offline access to electronic charts and documents, which are updated via the Internet or by DVD update service. EC4W also provides access to Electronic Text pages. In addition, EC4W has the ability to overlay and display Jeppesen weather on enroute charts, and this service is provided at no additional cost. Weather can be downloaded via the internet for your terminal chart subscription coverage area.
e-Charts for Windows 4.0 Features
- EC4W can now be run in a client/server architecture at the customer location. This requires that the customer provide a server that will install a Jeppesen program called CDA. At Jeppesen, an account manager will establish the customer coverages and charts to be delivered by a service called DDM, and DDM will deliver the customer specific Terminal Charts, NavData and e-Text pages. The EC4W client application is then installed on each client pc, which will receive automatic downloads of Terminal Charts, NavData and e-Text pages from the CDA server.
- Tailored Coverages and Terminal Charts can be accessed in EC4W using the client/server architecture described above.
- Customer can insert PDF files on the DDM server that can then be accessed by all EC4W client pc’s.
-
Chart Compare feature that allows user to view what Terminal Charts have updated since the previous cycle update, and allows users to view the new and old charts side by side to easily see differences.
