Canada - Airports with runways serviced by High Intensity Approach Lights - Instrument Approach Procedures
Canada has recently implemented a change that requires certain Decision Heights or Landing Visibilities associated with approach procedures to be raised when the associated HIALS is inoperative. Moving forward this change will be applied directly to Canadian Jeppesen charts as they are revised. In the interim, the information below should be used to determine the correct DH and landing visibility values when a HIALS is inoperative.
Applicable High Intensity Approach Light Systems: HIALS, ALSF-I, ALSF-II, SSALR, SSALS
For approach procedures with a straight-in landing DH of less than 250’ the following applies:
