Brazil - All Airports within Brazil: Approach Procedures
Brazil has issued AIC 09/17 effective 22 June and AIC 13/17 effective 20 July 2017 which indicate that, for approach procedures within Brazil, the ceiling requirement will no longer be applicable as a weather indicator for IFR operations. The determination of operating meteorological conditions related to a given approach procedure shall only be made based on the published landing visibility. The determination of the operational ceiling required to proceed for landing after the DA or MDA is the responsibility of the aircraft operator.
THEREFORE, WITHIN THE COUNTRY OF BRAZIL, THE CEILING REQUIREMENT ASSOCIATED WITH APPROACH PROCEDURES NO LONGER APPLIES.
Ceilings will continue to be shown on Jeppesen approach charts until they are removed from the approach procedure source as supplied by Brazil.
