Every department of Continental worked with Jeppesen to produce a new version of EFB software. Not one designed by a manufacturer, but designed by an airline, by the people who fly the aircraft. Therefore, it's an EFB for pilots, built by pilots.
– Continental Airlines
The hardware in the airplane is probably the easiest part of it. Keeping the charts and digital information updated and having processes that are efficient and make sense and (are) safe – when we think of Jeppesen, we have got a lot of confidence in their ability to manage those particular elements.
– Continental Airlines
From a standpoint of working with Jeppesen, they are very, very good in customer support, that's about the best way to put it. They are an excellent, excellent provider. I can't emphasize (enough) the importance of having a good, solid transition from paper to glass. And the pilots have readily accepted it. It's been almost seamless. You get the same picture on a piece of paper – you get the same picture on the glass. And, the ease of accessing all of the information has been received (with) very, very positive comments from the pilots.
– Continental Airlines
The new Jeppesen EFB takes advantage of technology, as opposed to just representing paper on a computer, it takes it to the next level and truly uses the technology to make a better product than paper – at the same time bringing additional new features to increase situational awareness and clearly enhance safety in the long run.
– Southwest Airlines
The feedback all along has been very positive in terms of being able to be involved in the process and certainly (we) have appreciated Jeppesen's willingness to go out and thoroughly understand how does an airline pilot work in his work environment on a day-to-day basis.
