Navigation expert Jeppesen is now offering the Spring 2010 release of its popular C-MAP MAX cartography, providing access to greatly expanded Northeast coverage, thousands of new aerial and marina photos and hundreds of new MAX Lakes electronic fishing maps. In addition, the C-MAP by Jeppesen Spring 2010 release of MAX and NT+ cartography titles provides thousands of Notice-to-Mariner corrections and other changes designed to enhance safe navigation.
Sailors, power boaters and saltwater anglers who frequent Northeast U.S. and Canadian waters will appreciate the new expanded coverage offered in C-MAP MAX Wide title NA-M026 (Great Lakes, Northeast Coast and Approaches). The Spring 2010 release of this chart now includes all the coastal charts for Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and the Long Island area of New York, as well as the popular Hudson River in its entirety.
Jeppesen also added more than 2,400 new aerial photos to its C-MAP MAX chart database for U.S. and Caribbean waters. These images are a powerful tool for navigators, enhancing situational awareness and increasing confidence when entering unfamiliar inlets or harbors. New photos have been added to MAX charts for 32 states, including 236 new images for Georgia, 194 for California, 172 for New York, 128 for Maine and 126 for Massachusetts. Cruisers will also appreciate the 390 new images added for Canadian waters and 213 new photos found throughout the Bahamas.
Jeppesen’s MAX Lakes electronic fishing maps have also been enhanced for the Spring 2010 release, featuring additional key lakes throughout Wisconsin and Florida (two of the biggest U.S. states for freshwater fishing participation). This new MAX Lakes release features 251 new lakes added for Wisconsin and 73 new lakes across the state of Florida.
“The release of our latest cartography is timed to help boaters prepare for the upcoming spring/summer boating season,” said Michelle Buckalew, Jeppesen Light Marine senior marketing manager. “Current C-MAP by Jeppesen customers can trade an existing chart and receive a new one for a reduced price, to make sure they have the most current, detailed electronic charts,” added Buckalew.
The easiest and most cost effective way for boaters to stay up to date is to join Club Jeppesen Marine. This unique club provides one automatic chart update per year — sent when and where the boater requests. Annual Club Jeppesen Marine dues are less than the retail cost of one update, yet members receive a range of additional savings and valuable programs that can make boating more enjoyable and economical all year long.
