Jeppesen Marine released an extensively updated version of its C-MAP by Jeppesen MAX Lakes electronic fishing maps featuring more than 8,900 new lakes across the United States. That’s great news for tournament and recreational anglers looking for an edge over the competition — and bad news for the bass, walleye, pike, musky, trout and other freshwater gamefish swimming in some of North America’s most popular lakes, reservoirs and rivers.

The 2010 MAX Lakes library includes detailed lake mapping, local fishing information and exclusive value-added data that help anglers find and catch more fish. For example, the updated chart library includes lake data from the nation’s most trusted sources, including Fishing Hot Spots. MAX Lakes charts also provide advanced features such as 16-color shaded depth contours, bottom structure, emergent vegetation zones, updated 2010 state records and fishing/hunting regulations, and a wealth of local Points of Interest (POI) data.
Key updates in the North-Midwest region include:

  • 4,174 lake additions in Minnesota
  • 2,567 lakes additions in Michigan.
  • 2,252 lake additions in Wisconsin

Additions in other parts of the country:

  • Florida, 488 additions
  • Washington, 348 additions
  • Massachusetts, 276 additions
  • Indiana , 250 additions
  • Illinois, 230 additions
  • North Dakota, 190 additions
  • Alaska, 188 additions
  • New Hampshire, 161 additions
  • South Dakota, 144 additions

C-MAP by Jeppesen MAX Lakes maps work with all MAX-compatible GPS chart plotters from a variety of top manufacturers, including Furuno, Simrad, Northstar, Navman, Standard Horizon, SI-TEX, and Interphase. The 2010 MAX Lakes charts include six map regions covering the 48 contiguous U.S. states, Alaska and all of Canada for $129 each. Owners of existing MAX Lakes map regions can update to the new expanded 2010 release of the same region for $89.
