Worldwide navigation expert Jeppesen today announced the immediate availability of selected C-MAP by Jeppesen MapMedia charts for the advanced Furuno NavNet 3D navigation system. Effective immediately, boaters on North American, Central American and Caribbean waters can experience the powerful combination of Furuno NavNet 3D running detailed, accurate and feature-packed C-MAP by Jeppesen cartography.
U.S. based boaters purchasing new NavNet 3D systems will find these advanced units pre-loaded with C-MAP chart data for the entire continental United States and the Bahamas. To activate their preferred chart region, boaters are required to purchase an unlock code through either Jeppesen or Furuno USA Authorized Dealers. Owners of existing Furuno NavNet 3D systems can make their equipment C-MAP compatible with a free online 2.05 software upgrade through www.FurunoUSA.com. These boaters — as well as Furuno NavNet 3D users operating outside the continental U.S. and the Bahamas — will then need to load C-MAP by Jeppesen chart data onto their NavNet 3D systems before purchasing an unlock code.
Navigators can select from eight Wide chart regions for $300 each, including the pre-loaded WM73 (USA East Coast & Bahamas), WM74 (Gulf of Mexico, Great Lakes & Rivers) and WM47 (USA West Coast & Hawaii). Additional available Wide coverage regions include WM 72 (Canada North & East), WM48 (Canada West Coast), WM75 (Great Lakes & Maritimes), WM76 (Central America & Caribbean) and WM49 (Alaska). Boaters can also choose from two expansive Mega Wide regions for $600: MWM17 (Atlantic Coast, Gulf of Mexico & Caribbean) and MWM18 (Pacific Coast, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean).
Whether on newly purchased or existing NavNet 3D systems, boaters using C-MAP by Jeppesen MapMedia charts will gain the benefit of richly detailed and accurate cartography wherever they navigate. This new C-MAP by Jeppesen compatibility will be especially beneficial for NavNet 3D users boating in regions where detailed chart coverage was previously lacking, such as in the Bahamas or when traveling key U.S. inland waterways.
